Accessibility of the website

Access keys

Most navigators support going directly to specified links by pressing specific combinations of keys (access keys) defined on the website.

For example, in Windows this works by pressing Alt+access key (in Internet Explorer you must also press the intro key); for Macintosh, this works by pressing Ctrl+access key.

The following access keys are available at InditexJobs:

Compatibility with standards

All of the pages comply with the Accessibility Standards or General Principles of Accessible Design established by the WAI Working Group belonging to W3C.

In specific terms this website is adapted to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 1.0, Double A level.

All pages have been created according to the XHTML 1.0 Recommendation of the W3C for web development with semantic and structured marking.

The presentation layer has been created according to the W3C Recommendation on Cascading Style Sheets, Level 2 (CSS2).

In order to find out how these standards affect the accessibility of a website, read Dive Into Accessibility, an excellent resource that explains with examples how these directives help users with limitations when navigating on the Internet.

Navigation aids

All tables have headings with scope attributes making it possible for screen readers present the information in an intelligent manner. Also, when necessary the tables may have titles (caption label) and summaries (summary attribute) to make them easier to read.

Links

Most links whose text does not fully describe the destination have title attributes with clarification.

Whenever possible, the links are written so that they make sense out of context. Some browsers (such as JAWS, Home Page Reader, Lynx, and Opera) are able to extract the list of links from the current page and allow the user to navigate from this list. With this in mind the links are not duplicated, and if they are it is because the access the same content.

There are no javascript: pseudo-links. TAll links may be followed using any browser, even if JavaScript is not enabled. No links will open in a separate window.

Visual Design

The visual design has been made using CSS. If the browser or browsing device does not support style sheets, the content of the web will still be fully legible, thanks to its structural mark-up.

For this reason the site works well in PDA's and other mobile devices without extra work and without pre-processing.
